Moxie was
a patent medicine beverage on its way to becoming a soft drink. It
became a soft drink about 1890. Consolidated Bottling Company of Lima
bottled Moxie the soft drink until the late 1930 period. Two of these
bottles are exhibits P16 and P17 of the Pepsi
Cola Collection. Forty years later Karl W. Koch again bottled
Moxie at Consolidated Bottling Company of Lima, Ohio using a paper
labeled 16 oz. non returnable bottle about 1970. It sold well until
customers tried to drink the product. |
